Working

I have been working extra hours at work. It is my busiest time of year. Everyone I put on orders has them end 30 September. Then they turn into pumpkins. So now we are requesting paperwork and money to do it all for next fiscal year. There have been times I actually took cat naps under may desk and was in the office for a few days.
Took oldest daughter to sleep away camp on Sunday. Hope she is holding up okay. She has not been away from us for this long before!
I am having issues at the fire house and it is upsetting. It always seemed like my little get away from all my issues. I would go up there and concentrate on other people problems for a while. Now My refuge is causing me issues. I cleaned out the locker I kept stuff in for when I slept over and cleared my running gear locker of everything but the running gear. I hear I am going to be EMS rookie of the year, but feel like I am being pushed out the door.
Got in touch with my best friend from high school. Was so cool when he called on Saturday. Boy, does he make me feel like an under achiever. We were always academic competitive, in a lot of the same honors and AP courses, etc. He is a doctor married to a doctor and I am a paper pushing Soldier. I feel like he is Hawkeye and I am Radar!!
Good Friend who worked with me for a while then went back to her state leaves in a week for Iraq. Worried and jealous!! Everyone say a prayer for her!

One Armed Paper Hanger

That is how I feel. Be going non-Stop it seems for a while. Between work, home and the station. Well I finally have a new boss at work, actually 2. The branch chief has been there almost a month, and my immediate supervisor reported this week. It will take a while to get my boss up to speed and doing it at the busiest time of year.
I am working hard to my the end of the year as smooth as possible this year. Last year was a Charlie Foxtrot thanks to the old branch chief!!I am trying to get things better organized to meet the new Branch Chiefs requests for information. He has certain things he wants us to be able to give at moments notice, so I am trying to figure out how to make the info available.
Because of all the stuff going on with my back, I am taking a break from running at the station. IT is partially to cover myself with things at work. Long story!!
Well, my first year at the station is over. We recently had elections. At lot of people were not too pleased with some of the results. I am waiting to see how things turn out. I think I will be a top 15 runner, which are usually awarded at the banquet. Rumor is that I also am going to be the EMS rookie of the year. Might be getting a plaque.
Recently a good female friend from high school got in touch with me. She tracked me down through my mom. (Thanks!) Well, she has recently gotten a whole bunch of us from high school together via email. IT has been real good getting back in touch with old friends. A bunch of then are getting together in Moultrie this weekend. I am jealous that they are going to be hanging out and I am here. One of the guys was here in town with his family the week of July 4th. I got to meet him and his family for dinner after work one night that week. That was pretty cool.
Well, I will once again try to do better at keeping this up to date.

Time to catch everyone up

I have been working a lot. I thought I was going to have a new boss a few weeks ago, turns out he is arriving in mid July. The Branch Chief is gone!! WHOO-HOOOO! Getting to be the busy time of the year with the end of the FY coming up. I see long days in my future!!
Recently a good friend from high school got in touch with me. This has lead to getting in touch with several other friends from back then. There have been a lot of emails flying. Several of them are getting together for a mini-reunion in a few weeks. I am thinking of heading home in the fall, so we may try to schedule another one when I am in town.
I have been running a lot of calls. I took some leave in June and spent some extra time at the station. Last night I took my test to be "cut loose." I am now an "Officer in Charge" it is really just a title. Does not change much about what I do except, I no longer have to wait a few minutes before we can respond to a call. I am looking at taking EVOC (Emergency Vehicle operators Course) sometime in July. This will allow me to start learning to drive the ambulances. We had elections for officers and some are not happy about the some of the out comes. Nominations have been submitted for awards to be handed out at our banquet in September. Rumor has it that I may be EMS Rookie of the Year. Do not think I deserve it, but not my call.
I will try to do better at keeping this updated.
